Recreational Cannabis Raises Questions of Equity

The legalization of medical marijuana in Missouri has resulted in $30 million in sales in June of 2022 alone. As Missourians were asked to consider a ballot measure seeking to legalize recreational use, this episode looks at who currently benefits most from this emerging industry and whether those impacted most by damaging policies of the war on drugs are getting a fair cut.
Land of Opportunity

Land of Opportunity is a historical documentary special that looks at the racist history of housing segregation in Kansas City, MO and how the black residents of the Santa Fe Place neighborhood fought to integrate and in turn, change the housing landscape of the United States. Land of Opportunity aired on Kansas City PBS and won an NATAS Midwest Regional Emmy in 2020 for Best Historical Documentary.
Gender Affirming Care

Transgender rights continue to dominate headlines as legislatures across the country push restrictive laws with Missouri and Kansas following suit. Those most directly affected by these measures must look at how they will access medical care, who will legally provide it and where they can find sanctuary. This month, "Flatland in Focus" examines these issues with members of the trans community and those who provide care and support.

This live session of Kansas City indie rock band Liney Blu is one of over 100 installments of a live music video series produced by Boston Visuals since 2019.
Flew the Coop Sessions features bands of all kinds from all over with the intent of highlighting a thriving Midwest music scene and giving artists high quality content free of charge in order to grow their project and platform.
This series pops up in different unique spaces and venues throughout the greater Kansas City metro area. This session was filmed at All Keyed Up piano shop in the west bottoms.
Give a F_ck Campaign

Blaqout is non-profit that provides resources for the black LGBTQ+ community in the Kansas City area and Give a F_ck is a fundraising campaign seeking to move allies to donate time and money by sharing the testimonials of the black queer community during a time of increasing legislative attacks across the country.
Missouri Executive Order 44 | Flew the Coop Session

This installment of the live session series Flew the Coop Sessions features Kansas City hardcore band, Missouri Executive Order 44.
Inspired by the events of a state sanctioned massacre of mormons, this band’s theatrics take center stage with bike helmets, button ups and pantie hoes face coverings.
This cinematic performance was filmed at Charlotte Street Foundation’s black box theater.
